Raise Awareness with the All Party Parliamentary Group on Fibromyalgia!

MP for Reading East, Rob
Wilson, updated the Reading Fibromyalgia Support Group on developments of the
APPG on FM during FMA UK Awareness week. The next APPG meeting at Westminster is on October
12th at 11 am.
Alice Theadom, a health psychologist, will be presenting her recent research
findings on sleep and fibromyalgia, accompanied by her colleague Dr Mark
Cropley.
It is vital that all fibromyalgia sufferers write to their MPs asking them to join the APPG on FM and to attend this meeting. A Template letter in word format is available here
Below is a list of MPs who have signed up to the APPG on FM. If your MP is not listed please write to him/her. You might like to ask your MP pertinent questions that would trigger a response from the DoH e.g. “What provision has been made by the DoH for Fibromyalgia sufferers”. This would then inundate the DoH with letters about the condition that they would be bound to reply to.

If your Health Care Professional needs some education in fibromyalgia you can request that an FMA UK Health Professionals Pack is sent out to them. All we need is the name of the Health CareProfessional and the address of their practice. We will then send a pack to their surgery addressed from us to them.

You can find a Support Group near you by contacting the Regional Coordinator for your area. If there does not happen to be a support group near you then maybe you can join with some other members and set one up. Support groups provide a social benefit as well as the opportunity to share tips on coping with fibro. They come in all shapes and sizes and we are often told how they have helped people.
